Which reinforces the disease of "not-being-punctual"?
This is the chronic disease in our team - "Lateness or not-being-punctual". The symptom is more people coming late for the meetings and even this happens to those who we have trusted to be the "punctual" people after a while. The question is that which causes people to sink into the chain of "not being punctual" and which reinforces the "not-being-punctual".
I talked to one of my team mates. One time, she said that she came late for the meetings because she was sure that the meetings would start late; and this was because the others were coming late. Now the question is on whom is to blame. As a team who assure all the members to be on time for the meeting, should we blame the facilitators who wait for the late people or should we do with the people who are late for the meetings.
The other aspect to underly this disease is that as the physical people who want to get the work done, as we do not see the work done, we start thinking "It is the waste of time if I am on time but waiting for the other people". The other aspect is a lot related to "self-esteem" and "self-respect" for each other.
I leave you here an open discussion by the questions "which causes you to be late for the meeting? (Are they the physical matters - traffic jam, broken motorbike, etc. or any emotional/ mental matters - your favorite behavior?).
Welcome all the feedback and comments (in Vietnamese or English). Please drop me those to the email if you do not mind.
